Gut flora is the micro- organism that lives in the digestive track. The “good” gut flora, which Bifidobacteria is one of, has a mutually beneficial relationship with their host, meaning us. Without this gut flora, we suffer many illnesses you read and hear about every day such as autism, depression, IBS, colds and flus, autoimmune disease (MS, RA, Celiacs), arthritis, acne and eczema, asthma, allergies, chronic cystitis, bed wetting, sinusitis, post-nasal drip, rhinitis, gingivitis or vaginitis.
Our Gut Flora protects us from invading pathogens and helps with detoxification, facilitating the digestion of food as well as the absorption of vitamins and minerals like calcium, magnesium and zinc, actually produces B vitamins and Vitamin K and helps protect the lining of the gut so we don’t get “Leaky Gut” which promotes aches pains and auto immune disorders.
84-88% of the immune system is housed in the gut lining and the gastrointestinal tract, if laid out end to end would be about as long as a football field. So this should be considered an organ that we need to take care of!
Weed means killing off all the bad guys in your gut that are taking up the room and not letting the good guys take up residence. Gut Flora is the way to go to accomplish this.
Seed and Feed mean to give the good guys food so they can establish residency which would be Prebiotic Inulin (their food) and then you can also add Prosynbiotic to help the good guys in taking over the neighborhood.
You also need to change your diet. Lay off the processed food, sugar, anything made of wheat and dairy including commercial yogurt. Don’t worry, there is plenty of real food left to eat.
